06/12/2011 New ETAD Method for PCBs

The new ETAD Method 229 is a method for the determination of total content of polychlorinated biphenyls in pigments (including mono- and di-chlorobiphenyls) by dissolution, cleanup and GC/MS. The method is based on the experience of ETAD member companies and reflects the technical advancement in modern analytics. As a relevant improvement in comparison to previously developped methods, it allows most PCB congeners to be separated or recognizable at different retention times. 13/09/2011 ETAD/IVDK project

The ETAD/IVDK project on contact allergy to textile dyes was concluded in spring 2011 after the conclusion of its 2-years' run. The outcome confirmed the very low incidence rate already observed by the similar precedent ETAD project G1041S. The final Project Report is available for download below.

12/09/2011 REACH survey

A study on the impact of the REACH Regulation on the innovativeness of the EU chemical industry has been commissioned by the European Commission Directorate General Enterprise and Industry. The survey can be answered at http://www.cses.co.uk/reach_innovation_survey/ and will help to gather a general feedback on key issues related to the implementation of the REACH Regulation.

30/05/2011 ETAD Board 2011/2012

The ETAD Board has a new President, Mr. Ravi Kapoor from the company Heubach Colour Pvt Ltd, as well as four new members:

Dr. Clemens Grund (DyStar Colours Deutschland GmbH),

Dr. Peter Scheibli (Huntsman (Switzerland) GmbH),

Dr. Akio Yoshida (Dainichiseika Color & Chemicals Mfg.) and

Dr. Rüdiger Walz (Clariant International Ltd.).

The new Board composition for 2011/2012 (see attachment for the complete list of Board members) was unanimously accepted by the companies present at the ETAD General Assembly 2011 in Amsterdam.

30/05/2011 New membership categories

Two new Membership Categories for ETAD were proposed and unanimously accepted during the ETAD General Assembly 2011 in Amsterdam. The new categories are:

-        Associate Membership and

-        Candidate of ETAD
